From the warm tropical marine climate of Jamaica to the breathe taking scenic mountains of Pilanesberg! That sounds like a perfect holiday getaway… but if you’ve lived your entire life in warm climate such as that of Jamaica, then being on a game drive in winter is not so nice.

That’s what my guests experienced this morning. What made it really enjoyable is the abundance of cat sightings throughout the park. This morning we’ve had not 1 but 2 leopard sightings – 1 of which was a big male by Tshepe road and Kwalata junction trying his luck by stalking a dazzle of zedra but the wildebeest gave away his position by sounding out an alarm call. Well there goes breakfast….! The other leopard sighting was a very strong independent mother with 2 of her cubs by Tshepe road Mankwe way. They gave us an unforgettable sighting by climbing up and down a tree. I guess mommy way giving them a valuable trick that they will thank her for later on in life. The lions, being the top predators in the park so the cubs will have to remember that if you can drag your meal up a tree you will never go hungry. National discovery channel came to life as my guests observed the behavior of the leopards which is very rare to get a chance to see in the wild.
